Hagerstown, MD – Paul Wayne Grossnickle, 85, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

He was born on April 4, 1938, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Paul Appleman Grossnickle and Jane E. (Sterling) Grossnickle Springer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann (Beaver) Grossnickle in 2008.

Paul was a 1956 graduate of Hagerstown High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving active and reserve for 30 plus years.  He served during the Vietnam War.

Additionally, he was employed by the Department of Defense as an Aircraft Engineer Mechanic for 20 plus years, until his retirement.

He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church Hagerstown, MD.

He was also a member of Dixon Troxell Post #211 American Legion Funkstown, MD for 56 years.

Paul was a volunteer driver for several years for the American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program.

He is survived by his brother Earl R. Springer and his wife Sheila; special friend Faye Fowler; beloved cat Molly.

He is also survived by the Nguyen Family especially Ly whom he considered family and many more close friends and those who served with him.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his stepfather Carl Randolph Springer and his brother Randolph Springer.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 am. 

Graveside services will be held Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:30 am with Hospice Chaplain Duane Musgrove officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Doey’s House 11370 Caring Pathway Lane Hagerstown, MD 21742.
