Paul Hose, Sr. Obituary

Clear Spring, MD – Paul David Hose, Sr., 100, of Clear Spring, MD passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at his home.

He was born on July 26, 1923, in Williamsport, MD to the late Earl Franklin and Hazel Irene (Sharer) Hose.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Lorraine (Halstead) Hose on May 7, 2009.  They were married for 63 years.

Paul was employed by Danzer Metals in Halfway, MD until his retirement.  He was previously employed by New York Central Iron Works that became Maryland Metals in Hagerstown.

He served in the U.S. Army as a medic in WWII in the Pacific Theater, working in operating rooms on the 31st Field Hospital and participated in Kwajalein, Sapan, Leyte, and Okinawa Campaigns.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church Clear Spring, MD for 56 years.

Paul was a member of Joseph C. Herbert Post #222 American Legion Clear Spring, MD.

Paul loved the Baltimore Orioles, watching old Westerns, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter Mary Ellen Hose and sons Steven L. Hose (Teresa), Randy L. Hose, and Dennis W. Hose; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son Paul D. Hose, Jr.; sisters Stella Sacrey and Henrietta Weller; brothers Sylvester Hose, Alvey Hose, Clyde Hose, and Harry Hose.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Monday, April 8, 2024, at 12:00 (noon) with Rev. Father Collin Poston officiating.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Monday from 11:00 am – 12:00 (noon). 

Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 11:00 am with Deacon Michael McGuire officiating.  Military graveside services will be provided by Joseph C. Herbert Post #222 American Legion Clear Spring, MD.
