Pauline Agnes Mentzer, 95, of Williamsport, MD passed away on August 2, 2021 at Doey’s House.
Born on May 25, 1926, in Hagerstown, MD. She was the daughter, of the late John M. Hamsher, Sr. and Pauline Augusta (Wolfe) Hamsher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John L. Mentzer of Williamsport, MD; sister, Cora A. Gift of Chambersburg, PA; brothers, John M. Hamsher, Jr. of Downsville, MD and William W. Hamsher of Hagerstown, MD.
She is survived by nieces, Patricia A. Nottle of Winterhaven, FL; Abby J. Zimmerman of Hagerstown, MD; Joan M. Wetzel of Hagerstown, MD; Sue E. Hoover of Hagerstown, MD; and nephew John A. Hamsher, Sr. of Hagerstown, MD.
She was employed in food services for a total of over 55 years. She was employed in food services at Fairchild Industries for 25 years and worked another 25 years in food services at Mack Trucks, and after 5 years retired from food services with Washington County Public Schools at the age of 86.
She was a member of Christ Reformed UCC in Hagerstown for many years.
She was also a member of Queen Esther Chapter No. 3, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling with her husband prior to his death, was an avid doll collector, and enjoyed companionship of her bichon frise, Snowball for 16 years.
Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Hospice Chaplain Duane Musgrove officiating.
