Williamsport, MD – Phyllis Jean Miles, 88, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Heritage Retirement Community Greencastle, PA.
She was born on June 5, 1935, in Hagerstown, MD to the late Walter Miller and Catherine Estella (Gaylor) Metz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee “Don” Miles in 2020.
Phyllis was a 1953 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She worked for Public Roads and the Herald-Mail as a contract hauler for paper carriers.
She was a member of St. James Brethren Church.
Phyllis loved taking care of her family. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and doing lawn work.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon Strite and her husband Joe of Williamsport, MD; daughter Michelle Trumpower and her husband Curtis of Maugansville, MD; daughter Melody Miles of Greencastle, PA; son Randy Miles and his wife Pam of Williamsport, MD; sister Connie Mulch and her husband Neil; grandchildren Rachael Rebok, Sarah Reed, Miles Trumpower, Shelly Trumpower, Amanda Miller, Andrew Schnebly, Lindsay Sharpe, Tyler Miles, Delaney Miles, and Jordyn Miles; 8 great grandchildren; many more family, friends, and neighbors.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice and Heritage Retirement Community for their compassion and exceptional care.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:00 am with Pastor Luke Brinkerhoff officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery Clear Spring, MD.
