Hagerstown, MD – Richard Franklin “Dick” Cunningham, 80, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on July 23, 1942 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Edmund Sylvester Sr. and Alice Virginia Nalley Cunningham.
He attended Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD.
Dick was employed by Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown, MD until his retirement in 1994.
He was of the Assemblies of God Faith.
He was a previous member of the Loyal Order of moose Lodge #212 Hagerstown, MD and a former member of the Elks Lodge.
Dick was involved for many years with helping the Food Bank in Hagerstown, MD.
He loved to play the banjo and the guitar.
Dick enjoyed riding his motorcycle, car shows, and tractor and truck pulling. He was a friend to everyone.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Louise (Moore) Cunningham whom he married on June 21, 1975; daughter Zena L. Sullivan and her husband James of Shady Side, MD; stepdaughter Norma J. Pierce and her husband Michael of Martinsburg, WV; stepson Robert B. Barnhart, Sr. and his fiance’ Amy of Clear Spring, MD; sister Margaret R. Mills and her husband Bill of Williamsport, MD; 3 grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; special nephew Billy Mills, Jr.; several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by a special cousin Arthur “Sonny” Cunningham.
Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, MD.
