Williamsport, Maryland-Richard Samuel Stotler, 86 of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday May 12, 2019 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.
Born in Hagerstown, Maryland on June 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Isaac William and Geneive Marie Davis Stotler.
He was a 1951 graduate of Hagerstown High School and worked at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown for 38 years until retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Grace United Brethren Church in Hagerstown, Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM where he was a Past Sachem in Williamsport. He was a lifetime member of Western Maryland Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, archery and softball. He coached at Conococheague Little League and Senior League for 20 years and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Janet Marie Metz Stotler, a daughter Michelle Renee Stotler of Falling Waters, WV, a grandson whom he raised Zackory Allen Hoffman of Williamsport, MD, stepchildren Connie Bowers and husband Willy of Williamsport, MD, Charles Anderson and fiancé Sylvia of Frederick, MD, Kirk Anderson and wife Laura of Williamsport, MD and David Anderson, Sr. and wife Shirley of Orlando, FL, his grandchildren Amber, Jewel and Daulton, great grandchildren Hailey, Hannah and Aleigha, step grandchildren Dan, Patrick, Kara, Craig, Lindsay and David, Jr., step great grandchildren Justin, Bryan, Ella, Craig, Cade, Heidi, Shelby and Lydia and a sister Marie Rogers and husband Jack of Hagerstown, MD.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Jaclyn Serena Stotler, a step sister Virginia Delauder and a step brother Robert Stotler.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 16, 2019 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795. For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Thursday at 9:00am.
