Obituary

Falling Waters, WV – Richard D. “Dick” Wiggin, 83, of Falling Waters, WV passed away on Friday June 17, 2022.
 
Dick was born in Naples, Maine on June 28, 1938 to the late Elmer Robert Wiggin and Virginia J. (Davenport) Wiggin.
 
He served in the United States Marine Corps where he received the Good Conduct Medal.
 
He attended Harmony United Methodist Church in Falling Waters where he sang in the choir.
 
After the service Dick received his bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice from Golden Gate University.
 
He went on to work for the U.S. Park Police for 24 years where he retired as a Major. Dick also worked briefly at NIH as the Chief of Police.
 
Dick had a passion for horses and had three of his own with his wife Barbara.
 
In his free time, Dick enjoyed travelling with his wife and loved watching sports especially the Boston Red Sox and Washington Redskins.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Barbara (Shazer) Wiggin; daughter in law Penny; sister Harriet Wiggin D’Agostino; brother in law Louis Shazer; grandson Steven (Amy); grandson Corey; great granddaughter Allison; great grandson Derek.
 
In addition to his parents Dick was preceded in death by a son Steven and a brother Doug Wiggin.
 
Services will be announced at a later date.
