Robert William "Bob" Demmitt

Williamsport, MD – Robert William “Bob” Demmitt, 77, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at his home.

He was born on January 9, 1943 in Hagerstown, MD to the late George William and Ellen Louise Ecobona Demmitt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kim I. Demmitt on December 27, 2011.

He was a 1962 graduate of South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam Era.

Bob was a general contractor most of his working life.

He was of the Catholic Faith.

Bob loved baseball and working with younger kids, he was a longtime volunteer with the Conococheague Little League.

He is survived by his daughter Susan R. DiLaudo (Steve) of Williamsport, MD; son W. Shane Demmitt (Caroline DJang) of Irvine, CA; stepdaughter Susan G. Jack of Williamsport, MD; stepdaughter Nancy M. Johns of Chambersburg, PA; stepdaughter Brittney L. Dean of Hedgesville, WV; sister Shirley Mozingo of Hagerstown, MD; sister Nancy King of Winnabow, NC; sister Janice Sweigert of Hagerstown, MD; sister Barbara Carter of Hagerstown, MD; grandson Nico DiLaudo; step granddaughters Natalie Jack, Katie Jack, Brielle Johns; step  grandon Xander Johns; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Mary Walter.

The Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD will be open on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 12:00 (noon) – 5:00 pm for the convenience family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Chaplain Duane Musgrove officiating.
