Robert Messersmith

Robert Messersmith-87 of Falling Waters, WV passed away at Hospice of The Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV on Thursday July 15, 2021. Born on November 30,1933 in Bedford, PA, he was the eldest son of Rosco and Salena Oneal Messersmith.

He was a retired home builder, antique car enthusiast, a member of the Westview Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV, former member of the Rockhill Christian Fellowship Church in Clearville, PA, Calverton Baptist Church in Silver Spring, MD, Fort Bedford Region AACA, and the Chaneysville Senior Center.

Mr. Messersmith was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stephen, and grandson Matthew Jenkins.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Mary Green Messersmith, his children Robert Messersmith, Jr. and his wife Billie of Falling Waters, WV, Sandra Lynn Jenkins of Brooklyn, MD, and Monty Messersmith and his wife Donna of Bradenton, FL. Brothers Ellsworth Messersmith, and his wife Barbara of Hagerstown, MD, Arlin Messersmith and his wife Jackie of Chester, MD, and Floyd Messersmith and Collette of Summerfield, FL. Sisters Freda Betts of The Villages, FL, and Doris Rhoads of Hagerstown, MD. Grandchildren Jason Jenkins and his wife Emily, Beau Jenkins, Pierce Messersmith and his wife Haley, and Tyler Messersmith. Great grandchildren Isabelle, Victor, and Mason.

There will be no viewing.

Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Artemas, PA on Tuesday July 20,2021 at 11:00am with Pastor Fran Scott officiating.
