Roddy Newlin Obituary

Williamsport, MD -Roddy Lee Newlin, 66, of Williamsport, MD passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD from underlying health conditions. 

Roddy was born on May 27, 1953 in Williamsport, MD to the late Vernon Eugene and Audrey Marie Socks Newlin.

He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and was self-employed at Newlin’s Radio and Television in Williamsport, MD where he worked together with his father for many years.

Roddy enjoyed Civil War History and performing Elvis impersonations at local nursing homes and retirement communities.

He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Roddy volunteered with the Williamsport Ambulance Service for many years.

He is survived by his fiancé, and life-long companion, Crystal Bennett; two brothers, David and Ricky Newlin; two sisters Diana Henesy and Renee Kirby; a very special nephew Tommy Newlin who was like a brother to him along with other nieces and nephews. 

Friends and family may pay their respects to Roddy on Thursday, April 16, 2020 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and on Friday, April 17, 2020 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD.

Burial will be private with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating.
