Ronald Martin Obituary

Falling Waters, WV – Ronald Clinton Martin, 83, of Falling Waters, WV passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. 

 

Born April 2, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Clinton Edgar and Virginia Catherine (Ruby) Martin. 

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Brannon. 

 

Ronald was a 1957 graduate of Williamsport High School in Williamsport, MD. 

 

He was employed as a utilities manager at Linton-Stockton Schools in Linton, IN until his retirement in 2004. 

 

Ronald was very devoted to his family as well as his extended family. He was a true Williamsporter. He loved everything about Williamsport and enjoyed his time attending Williamsport High School. He was the first ever drum major for the Williamsport High School Marching Blue Band. He was very interested in the history of the C & O Canal and wanted to learn more about it every chance he could. He was also a member of the William F. Moran, Jr. Museum and Foundation.  

 

He is survived by a daughter Teresa Martin Griffin of Falling Waters, WV; sister Sharon Martin Sterling of Williamsport, MD; granddaughter Caitlin Horner and her husband Scott of Hagerstown, MD; great grandchildren Luke Horner, Richard Cooper IV, and Evelyn Cooper; his extended family in Pennsylvania. 

 

He was preceded in death by a grandson Richard Harold Cooper III and a brother Donald Edgar Martin. 

 

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
