Boonsboro, MD – Ronald Clayton Werst, 86, of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on April 4, 1933 in Waynesboro, PA to the late Richard Russell and Madeline Catherine Beaver Werst.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Scott Werst on January 27, 1994.
Ronald was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.
He was a veteran of the United State Marines serving as a Sergeant during the Korean War.
He was employed by Moller Pipe Organ in Hagerstown, MD until his retirement in 1994.
He was of the Protestant Faith.
Ronald was a member of Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion Hagerstown, MD and Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.
He is survived by his son R. Scott Werst and his wife Teresa of Boonsboro, MD; stepson Lynn E. Scott and his wife Naomi of Greencastle, PA; grandson Dustin Scott Werst and his wife Amanda of Falling Waters, WV; great grandchildren Clayton and Miranda.
He was predeceased by a sister Shirley Tase and a brother John Haugh.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Ernest E. Witmer officiating.
