Russell Lewis Dorsey, Sr.

Russell Lewis Dorsey, Sr., 52, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Thursday November 2, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD. 

He was born on April 24, 1971, in Frederick, MD to the late William Cheeks and Betty Lou (Dorsey) Gibson.  

He is survived by his wife of 22 years Michelle (Keedy) Dorsey of Hagerstown, MD. 

Russell attended Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, MD. 

Russell was a Christian. 

He was employed as an electrician working mostly with his friends and their businesses. He was an avid football and Nascar fan cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He enjoyed volunteering at the Washington County Amvets Post 10 in Hagerstown, MD. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Grandmon Virgie Dorsey of Mt. Airy, MD; three sons Russell Lewis Dorsey, Jr. Of Hagerstown, MD, Dakota James Dorsey of Hagerstown, MD, and Hunter Grafton Dorsey of Hagerstown, MD; brother Brian Dorsey of Frederick, MD; sister Shyra Eckles of Texas; Aunt Barbara; 6 grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.  

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddad Grafton Dorsey.  

A memorial service will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday November 10, 2023, at 2:00 pm with Hospice Chaplain Duane Musgrove officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD 21795 to offset the cost of the funeral.
