Ruth (Hill) Andrews

Funkstown, MD – Ruth (Hill) Andrews, 87, of Funkstown, MD passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Creekside Nursing & Rehab Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on January 4, 1936, in Fulton County, PA to the late Lester Booth and Frances I. (Ritz) Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Andrews in 2009.

Ruth was a 1954 graduate of Southern Fulton High School.

She was employed by Maryland Ribbon Company until her retirement.  After retirement, she worked at Cracker Barrell.

Ruth was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown, MD.

In her younger years, she and her husband Timothy spent a lot of time at Western Maryland Sportsman’s Club.  They even lived there for a time.

Ruth enjoyed boating at Deep Creek Lake, camping, reading, and watching the birds.

She is survived by her son Roger L. Hill of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Sherry Andrews-Moore and her husband Robin of Funkstown, MD; sister Grace Barker and her husband Larry of Berkeley Springs, WV; granddaughter Sierra.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Benjamin Ritz and Nathan Hill.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, with Rev. Father John Jicha officiating.  Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
