Hagerstown, MD – S. Ruth Mellott, 87, of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Homewood Retirement Center Williamsport, MD.
She was born on July 13, 1931 in Johnstown, PA to the late Charles and Lydia Mae Caton Plummer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Mellott in 2012.
Ruth was a graduate of Johnstown High School Johnstown, PA and attended Hagerstown Business College Hagerstown, MD.
She was employed as a Secretary at Fairchild Aircrafts of Hagerstown, MD until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hagerstown, MD.
She was also a member of Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas IORM of Williamsport, MD; Morris Frock Post #42 American Legion Auxiliary Hagerstown, MD and an Associate of Cochran Auction Company in Boonsboro, MD.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
There will be no viewing.
Ruth was predeceased by 5 sisters and 6 brothers.
A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeffrey L. Shull officiating.
