Samuel L. Folley, Jr.

Williamsport, MD – Samuel L. Folley, Jr., 91, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home.

He was born on February 28, 1932, in Colver, PA to the late Samuel Louis Sr. and Louise Leaper Folley.

Samuel graduated from Dillsburg High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, MD until his retirement.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Halfway, MD.

Samuel was a handyman and people called him “Mr. Fix It”.  Improvised was a good way to describe him.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Folley whom he married on May 21, 1955; children Dawn Brooky, Joseph Folley and his wife Sheila, Cheryl Briggs, Linda McCarty, Scott Folley and his wife Anita, and Samuel Folley and his wife Dawn; sisters Jean Clouser and Mary Kay Kelly; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

He was predeceased by his son Tom Folley.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Halfway, MD on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11:00 am with Father John Jicha celebrant.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am.  Burial will be private.
