Boonsboro, MD – Samuel Wayne “Sammy” Jones, 78, of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home.
He was born on July 10, 1942 in Boonsboro, MD to the late Lewis E. Sr. and Reva Pearl Whitlock Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Jones in 2016.
Sammy attended Boonsboro schools.
He was formerly employed at UPS in Hagerstown, MD and was a Mechanic and Garage owner for the past 40 years.
He was a Christian.
He was a member of Clopper-Michael Post #10 American Legion of Boonsboro, MD; Logan Tribe #155 IORM of Boonsboro, MD; Sons of the Amvets of Middleton, MD; Loyal Order of the Moose International; loyal patron of the Yellow House in Boonsboro, MD.
He is survived by his daughter Missy Dillman and her husband Craig of Halfway, MD; daughter Samantha Jones- Kane and her husband Josh of Boonsboro, MD; son Terry Jones of Martinsburg, WV; loving grandchildren Travis, Hannah, Candi, Sarah, Rachel, Erin, Adam, Alyssa, Madelyn, Kaylin, and Little Sam; 15 great grandchildren; sister Doris Long; brothers Leon Jones (Betty), Harold Jones (Carol), Dale Jones (Esther), R. Blair Jones (Martha), Bobby Jones (C. Kay), David Jones (Charleen), and Gary Jones (Tina).
He was predeceased by an infant daughter Elizabeth Anne Jones; infant sister Sherry Jones; brothers Gerald Jones and Lewis E. Jones, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open at 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.
