Hancock, MD – Santa Rosa French, 100, of Hancock, MD passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at her home.
She was born on April 2, 1920 in Baltimore, MD to the late Caesar and Rosa Villa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Arthur French on April 17, 2004.
Santa was employed by Western Electric Company in Baltimore, MD for 30 plus years until retiring in 1977.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hancock, MD.
She was also a member of Joseph C. Herbert Post #222 American Legion Auxiliary in Clear Spring, MD and VFW Post in Baltimore, MD.
Santa enjoyed bowling, bus trips, gardening, bingo, and making crafts.
She is survived by her daughter A. Lynn Vickerson; daughter Jeanetta R. French; grandson Vincent E. French whom Santa raised; grandsons Wayne Barron, Michael Barron and Jeff Barron; several great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by three sisters, 3 brothers, and a grandson Anthony M. French.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Hancock, MD with Rev. Father John J. Lombardi celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery Hancock, MD.
