Sharron Ann Smith

Woodsfield, OH- Sharron Ann Smith, 66, of Woodsfield, OH and formerly of Boonsboro, MD passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Wheeling Hospital (WVU) in Wheeling, WV.

She was born on September 29, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD to Mabel Ruth (Kline) Armstrong of Boonsboro, MD and the late Robert Sidney Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dennis “Rick” Silvers on March 13, 2004.

Sharron was a 1972 graduate of Boonsboro High School in Boonsboro, MD.

She was employed by Western Maryland Hospital Center in Hagerstown, MD for 18 years until her retirement.  Most recently she was employed with Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home and Village in Boonsboro, MD and prior to that was at Broadmore Senior Living in Hagerstown, MD where she was involved with patient activities at all three facilities.  In her early years of employment Sharron was employed with Novan and Horner Manufacturing both in Hagerstown, MD.

She was a member of Woodsfield Church of the Nazarene of Woodsfield, OH.  She was involved with the Women’s Ministry and belonged to the Christian Motorcyclists Association. She was previously a member of Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene of Hagerstown, MD. 

Sharron was previously a member of Dixon-Troxell Post #211 American Legion Auxiliary of Funkstown, MD and Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas of the IORM of Williamsport, MD.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband William Lee “Bill” Smith whom she married on December 29, 2007; stepdaughter Kristi Brooks and her husband Michael; stepdaughter Cassandra Daigneault and her husband Joseph; stepson Eric Smith; brother Mark Armstrong and his wife Donna; step grandchildren Liam and Lucy Brooks, Luke (Meredith), Micah and Noah Daigneault, Wyatt, Elizabeth, Ava and Evan Smith; sister-in-law Debbie Armstrong; nephews Bryan Gembe and Jamie Armstrong; uncle Basil Armstrong.

She was predeceased by a sister Pamela Smith and two brothers John Armstrong and Matthew Armstrong.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Steven Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
