Shirley Mae McCauley

Williamsport, MD – Shirley Mae McCauley, 83, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Pinesburg, MD passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on January 2, 1938 in Pinesburg, MD to the late Albert Theodore and Edna Florence Hose Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lester McCauley, Sr. on July 31, 2007.  They were married December 31, 1954.

She attended Williamsport Schools.

Shirley was employed by the Washington County Board of Education at North Hagerstown High School until her retirement in 2000.  She was previously employed by London Fog in Boonsboro, MD and The Hosiery Mill in Williamsport, MD.

She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church in Williamsport, MD.

She was also a member of Amvets Post #10 Auxiliary of Hagerstown, MD and Red Feather Council #59 Degree of Pocahontas Tribe #84 IORM of Williamsport, MD.

Shirley loved baking, taking care of her children, and cleaning her house.

She is survived by her daughter Karen S. Eyler and her husband Ronald of Williamsport, MD; son Jack L. McCauley, Jr. and his partner Arlene Swope of Hagerstown, MD; son Gregory A. McCauley and his wife Robin of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Jack III, Colby, Isiah, Angel, Aiden, Brett, and Kari; great grandchildren Sophie, Parker, Leilani, Valerie, Camden, and Winter; special extended family Linda and Bob Artz, Ginger and Blaine Smith.

She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey L. McCauley; sisters Dortha V. Smallwood, Betty L. Ebersole, Mariam M. McCauley, Amanda J. Jackson, Carrie V. Linderman, and Clara Malloy; brothers Lewis G. Jackson, Richard D. Jackson, Merle E. Jackson, and Walter T. Jackson.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 12:00 (noon) on Friday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00 am with Kevin Smoot officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD.
