Williamsport, MD – Terry Wayne “Tank” Alger, 61, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.
He was born on October 8, 1960 in Martinsburg, WV to Nancy Lee (Ripple) Alger of Marlowe, WV and the late Kenneth Dewaine Alger.
He was a 1979 graduate of Westminster High School in Westminster, MD.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Tank was employed as a Mechanic and worked for various trucking companies throughout the United States.
He was of the Methodist Faith.
He was a member of Potomac Post #202 American Legion of Williamsport, MD and Amvets Post #38 of Falling Waters, WV.
Tank was a friend to everyone, he loved his family and country, and he thoroughly enjoyed the friendships he shared with the men and women of the American Legion and Amvets. Tank loved animals and enjoyed helping people. His specialty was a master technician with televisions, ham radios, and antique electronics.
Tank also enjoyed going to flea markets, he was a music aficionado, and loved classic cars.
Besides his mother he is survived by his son Tommy Alger of Georgia; sister Kenda Barrs of Falling Waters, WV; sister Pamela Giles of Cumming, GA; brother Douglas Alger of Falling Waters, WV.
A memorial service will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeffrey J. Zalatoris officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Military honors will be provided by the Joint Veterans Council of Washington County and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown, MD.
Burial will be private.
