Thomas Joseph Weimer, 71, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, passed away at UPMC Harrisburg, Harrisburg, Pa. on November 13, 2023. Born September 26, 1952, in Cumberland, Maryland, he was the son of Stanley Leo and Elizabeth Rose Weimer. Tom was the third of eight children.
Raised on a dairy farm near Williamsport, Maryland, Tom graduated from Williamsport High School and Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland.
After college, Tom worked as a herdsman with his dad, Stanley, at Weim-Sharr Holsteins, New Oxford, Pa. He later worked at Cross Keys Auto Parts, Cross Keys, Pa., and as a substitute teacher in the Hanover, Pa. area.
Tom was passionate about sports and played many, including basketball, softball, soccer, golf and bowling. And he played to win. His winning spirit was contagious, and you felt it when competing with him. From these competitive sports to cards or checkers, he gave it everything to win. He loved talking about and judging dairy cows with his dad and brothers. Tom loved his entire family but had a very special bond with his loving mother, Rose. He also delighted in his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. And he loved to make everyone laugh with a new joke. Some of his last words were of telling jokes to the nurses.
