Vernon Eugene Newlin

Williamsport, MD – Vernon Eugene Newlin, 89, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his home.

He was born on March 20, 1929 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Marion Francis and Anna Mae Sherman Newlin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Marie Socks Newlin on January 28, 2007.  They were married on December 26, 1946.

Vernon was the owner and operator of Newlin’s Radio & TV Sales and Service in Williamsport, MD for many years.

He was a member of Calvary Temple Williamsport, MD and most recently attended Mt. Lena United Methodist Church.

He previously volunteered with the Lion’s Club.

He is survived by his daughter Diana L. Henesy and her husband Doug of Williamsport, MD; daughter Renee M. Kirby and her husband Phil of Williamsport, MD; son David E. Newlin, Sr. and his wife of Hagerstown, MD; son Ricky A. Newlin and his wife Debbie of Williamsport, MD; son Roddy L. Newlin and his fiancee’ Crystal of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Jeff, Scott, Tammy, David Jr., Tommy, Josh, Amy, Danny, and Casey; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 12 siblings.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Wednesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 10:00 am with Pastor Rick Farley officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park Williamsport, MD.
