Virginia (Wight) McCulloch

September 20, 1926 ~ April 8, 2022 (age 95)

Virginia (Wight) McCulloch passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, of natural causes. Virginia was born September 20, 1926 in Washington, D.C. to the late Donald and Virginia Wight. She married John K. McCulloch on January 26, 1946, and together they had one son, the late Dr. Kimsey Wight McCulloch.

Virginia (“Jinny”) was raised in the Washington, D.C. area at her beloved home, Walnut Hill, where she was an accomplished equestrian. She attended Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., where she developed her lifelong love of reading. After her marriage, she moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where she was an accomplished homemaker and a historical book dealer. Virginia’s adventurous spirt and love of travel led her to explore the world – from boating down the Amazon River to riding elephants in India. During her time at home, Virginia dedicated her life to her family and many friends and supported numerous charitable causes in the Saginaw area.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Virginia Wight, her husband, John K. McCulloch, and her son, Dr. Kimsey Wight McCulloch.

Virginia is survived by her grandsons, Cole (Jennifer) and Adam (Mary), her brother Donald (Pam) Wight, and six great-grandchildren (Connor, Ryan, Holden, Katherine, Caroline, and Anne) as well as many loving family members, friends, and caregivers.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday June 27th 2022 at Oakwood Mausoleum, 5950 Gratiot Road. Rev. Adam McCulloch will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Saginaw Public Library or the Saginaw Children’s Zoo.
