Wayne Edward Reed

Hagerstown, Maryland- Wayne Edward Reed, 86 of Hagerstown, MD passed away on Saturday December 15, 2018.

Born in Greensburg, PA on November 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Luther W. and Margaret Parks Reed.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sally A. Shaver Reed in 2002.

Wayne was a graduate of Greensburg High School and he served in the United States Army.

He worked as an Electrician for Ellsworth Electric in Hagerstown until his retirement.

He was a member of the former Grace Brethren Church and attended Valley Grace Brethren Church.

Wayne is survived by a son Rev. W. Allen Reed and wife Judy of Hagerstown, MD, a daughter Linda M. French and husband Eddie of Columbia, MD, grandson Josh French and wife Laura of Columbia, MD, granddaughter Amanda Carbaugh and husband Jay of McConnellsburg, PA, grandson Matt Reed and wife Amy of Williamsport, MD, great grandchildren Julian Carbaugh, Glori Carbaugh, Sophie Carbaugh, Scarlett French and Jon French, brother Wallace Reed and wife Linda of Knoxville, TN, sister Marjorie Wentz and husband John of Maugansville, MD, his companion of 15 years Lucille Mummert and her children Lois Mummert and husband Ned Weirich, Dwight Mummert and wife Shari, Tonya Alber and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 19, 2018 at 11:00am at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD with his son Rev. W. Allen Reed officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00am.
