William Kenneth Moats

Martinsburg, West Virginia-William Kenneth Moats, 86 0f Martinsburg, WV passed away on Friday March 19, 2021 at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.

Born December 31, 1934 in Williamsport, MD, he was the son of the late Richard and Agnes Higgins Moats.  He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Yvonne Shupp Moats on April 19, 2016.

He worked as a Ringer Operator at W.D Byron Tannery in Williamsport, MD until retiring in 2000.

He loved farming and watching westerns and listening to old country music.  He enjoyed dancing at the local clubs in the Williamsport area and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was a member of Conococheague Tribe #84 IORM Williamsport, MD.

William is survived by a daughter Shelley Webb and her husband Charles of Everett, PA, 6 sons William Moats and his wife Patricia of Williamsport, MD, Terry Moats and his wife Lorri of Clear Spring, MD, Jeff Moats and his wife Linda of Williamsport, MD, Kenny Moats and his wife Kim of Hagerstown, MD, Mike moats of Martinsburg, WV, Matt Moats and his wife Emily of Martinsburg, WV, sisters Connie Fisher of Williamsport, MD and Carolyn Grumbine of Florida, brothers Jerry Moats of Martinsburg, WV and Ralph Moats of Reisterstown, MD, 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Dolores Fisher and brothers Jimmy Moats, Clyde Moats, Bobby Moats and Donnie Moats.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 24, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD.  For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will open Wednesday at 9:00am.

Graveside services will be held on Monday March 29, 2021 at 11:00am at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, MD.
