Anyone who served as Rotary president during Russ's tenure as secretary knows that the downtown club could not have functioned without his hard work. He quietly and efficiently handled a heavy workload without complaint and with great care and efficiency. He also kept the club abreast of things that needed to be done. He was a sterling Rotarian as well as a friend. I'll miss him. Along with Frank Erck's passing...it's been a tough few weeks for the Hagerstown Rotary Club.

Our sympathy to Russ' family. Cindy and I worked side by side with Russ for many years in Rotary. I was the Treasurer, Cindy as an active volunteer and Russ the Club Secretary. Russ' dedication and friendship cannot be equaled. Even as Cindy has lived the last 6 years in FL, Russ asked about her every week we talked at Rotary. The Club, his Firm, this Community and all of us will miss a very special person. His mark has ben made in the path he lead. Our prayers are with you.

My sympathies to Russ's family. I knew Russ for many years from our memberships in the Rotary Club of Hagerstown. Russ loved Rotary. He aspired to live by the values of the Four Way Test and the motto of Service Above Self. After his motorcycle accident, while I was Club President, he struggled to return to an active life in the Club contributing in any way he could. After leaving Hagerstown I returned and discovered he had found his niche. I was very happy for the leadership he was providing to the Club Foundation. He always had my utmost respect and know he will be missed by many.

Martha and family,
I was very saddened to hear of Russ's passing. I enjoyed the years that I worked with him at Fox & Associates and the friendship we shared during that time. I've seen him several times over the past few years and he has never changed; still a kind, soft-spoken and caring friend. Russ gave unselfishly of his time and his talents to the community through the many organizations he was involved in. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you through this difficult time. May God's loving arms surround you and bring you comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Russ' passing is so sad. We worked together at Fox & Associates many years ago, and I've seen him several times since then. He was a hard-working, highly-intelligent man, one to be admired for his accomplishments. His hand lettering and plat preparation was par excellence, as anyone can see from his many plats recorded among the Washington County Land Records. May the Lord make His Face to shine upon you. May the Lord lift up His Countenance upon you and give you Peace. Wayne
