I am so shocked to see this. Janet and I met at DCC and became friends right away. We remained friends for quite a few years. She eventually moved back to Roanoke, and would come back to visit pretty often. However, as time went on we lost touch. I didn't even know she was sick. Can someone contact me and let me know what happened? I would very much appreciate it!!!

I am so sorry to learn of your loss. May your many shared memories of your loved one bring your family comfort. The scriptures remind us that Almighty God is close to those who grieve; "...He saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) My sincerest condolences to all of you.

My name is Kathy Blalock. Janet was in the room at Riverside rehab in Danville with my mom in the year 2015. She was so sweet to my mom and my family. We were only together a few days and we knew my mom would pass away soon. My sister and I talked and prayed with Janet doing these days. We told her my mom was a strong Christian lady and we were happy she would be going to heaven soon. Janet did not want to be in the room when my mom passed away and God work this out as Janet went to Greensboro in the afternoon and my mom passed away at 2 a.m. that night. I tried several times to get in touch with Janet and I'm sorry I could not locate her. Although we were together only a few days we will always remember her. She called my mom grandmother. My family will be praying for your family.

I first knew Janet when she was my new teacher mentor at Schoolfield Elementary. Over the years we became good friends, sharing many laughs and a few tears. My little dogs will miss the "auntie" who never failed to love on them and laugh at their antics. I will miss our laughter-filled lunches & visits. Free from pain, may she now Rest In Peace.
