Williamsport, MD – Ray Samuel Burger, Sr., 84, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center Hagerstown, MD.


He was born on March 27, 1933 in Chambersburg, PA to the late Samuel Benjamin and Vesta Margaret Grove Burger.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lovey Elizabeth Nonemaker Burger in 2014.


He was a 1951 graduate of Williamsport High School Williamsport, MD.


Ray was a lifetime Farmer and Butcher.


He was a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau.


He is survived by his daughter Angela S. Speaker and her husband Roger of Williamsport; son Ray Samuel “Sammy” Burger, Jr. and his wife Cheri of Fairplay, MD; son Joseph Scott Burger and his wife Vicki of Williamsport, MD; son Benjamin Earl Burger, Sr. and his wife Jenny of Fairplay, MD; grandchildren Michael Keller, Robert Keller, Joey Burger, Amanda Martin, Lisa Beard, Amy Faulders, Jake Burger, and Sam Monk Burger; 8 great grandchildren.


He was predeceased by a stepdaughter Frances Richards; stepson Michael Edwards; grandson Benjamin Earl Burger, Jr.; grandson Daniel Lee Burger; granddaughter Elizabeth Marie Burger; granddaughter Jasmine Rafter Burger; grandson Bruce Anthony Milburn.


The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm.  The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Thursday for the convenience of family and friends.


Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Steve E. Wagoner officiating.  Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery Hagerstown, MD.
