Carol and Ryan, All my love goes out to both of you. Bob was a truly good person and wonderful friend. His attitude was a gift that could make people laugh, smile, or snap to as the case dictated. I'm so sorry for his suffering and will miss knowing he's on this earth. I couldn't make the services Friday but please let me know when the burial will be at Arlington. There are several of us who would like to join you over there. With hugs and love for both of you, Sue

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family and friends of LCDR Baker. I was a student of his as part of the Annapolis NJROTC program. He was a great teacher, leader, and role model for all of us. LCDR Baker is a big part of why I wanted to be a Naval Officer and setting me up for a bright future. I appreciated all of his life lessons from his sea stories that he'd tell us. He was a great man, he was nothing but a positive influence on the lives of hundreds of young people and had a lasting impact on all of his students. I thank him dearly and I know he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Commander Baker will never be forgotten. I remember being in NJROTC like it was yesterday. From unit inspections to athletic competitions, Commander Baker was always encouraging people to participate. Unlike many teachers, it always seemed as if Commander Baker enjoyed being there and wanted to be there. If he ever had a bad day, none of us knew it. I honestly remember being disappointed to learn that he would would not be teaching the upper 2 years of the NJROTC program. One can only be grateful they had the opportunity to have known someone as respectable as Commander Baker whom a lot could be learned from. He will be greatly missed. Sending my deepest sympathy to his family. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." - Matthew 5:4. - Ashley Brown c/0 2008.

I want to express my condolences on the passing of Bob. I graduated with him in the Smithsburg class of 1967. I was serving on the Smithsburg class or 1967 50th reunion committee. He kept us updated on his progress with the radiation and chemo. He will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. So very sorry for your loss. I am thankful that I got to reconnect with Bob, after many years, the last several summers at the Baker family reunion. What a wonderful, successful life he had in the military. My dad would have been proud of him knowing his long service and commitment to his country.
I pray that God would touch each of you with his comforting hand during this difficult time.
Many blessings.
