Dorothy Arleen West

Williamsport, MD – Dorothy Arleen West, 77, of Williamsport, MD passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Williamsport Nursing Home Williamsport, MD.

She was born on April 5, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD to the late James G. “Hank” and Beulah M. Baker Dawson.

She was previously employed as a Nurses Aide by Homewood Retirement Center and Williamsport Nursing Home until her retirement.

She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 62 years David W. West; son Richard West of Martinsburg, WV; daughter Kay Parker of Hagerstown, MD; son David L. West of Hagerstown, MD; daughter Patricia Scott of Hagerstown, MD; son Jeff West of Hagerstown, MD; brother John Dawson of Hagerstown, MD; brother Leonard Dawson of Hagerstown, MD; brother Michael Dawson of Waynesboro, PA; sister Sandra McGowan of Greencastle, PA; caretaker Norman L. Potter, Jr. of Williamsport, MD; five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son David W. West, four great grandchildren and a son in law.

The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 am.  Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 12:00 (noon) with Pastor Jonathan Laye officiating.
