Laura Jane DeLauney Grove

Sharpsburg, MD – Laura Jane DeLauney Grove, 91, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Julia Manor Healthcare Hagerstown, MD.

She was born on March 9, 1926 in Sharpsburg, Maryland to the late Mervin Thomas and Susan Virginia Willingham DeLauney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wilson Grove in 2017 whom she married in 1984.

She was a 1944 graduate of Boonsboro High School Boonsboro, MD and a graduate of Hagerstown Business College.

Laura was employed with Potomac Edison for 24 years retiring in 1989.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Sharpsburg, MD. She was an active devoted member since 1939.

Laura loved her family pets and gardening.

She is survived by her son Michael S. Arant and his wife Linda Renee Arant of Kearneysville, WV; stepdaughter Virginia Messier of Falling Waters, WV; stepdaughter Theresa Heinrich of Falling Waters, WV; stepdaughter Amy Bowers of Hagerstown, MD; stepdaughter Paula Crebbs of Hagerstown, MD; step son in law Gary Stallings of Smithsburg, MD; step daughter in law Sandy Grove of Kearneysville, WV; grandson Joshua Arant; grandson A. Benjamin Arant; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother William T. DeLauney; stepson Mark Grove and a stepdaughter Marcia Stallings.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Sharpsburg, MD on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 am                            with Rev. Mark Wastler officiating.
